Matching Grant
If you live or work in Breckinridge County you may be aware that we have many strays or what are called Community Cats in our cities. Cats can multiply every 63 to 65 days and suddenly you can have a cat colony of 20-30 cats! They can become a nuisance to our businesses and even our neighborhoods. With everyone’s support Animal Friends would like to humanely address this county wide issue.
You see, Breck Co. Animal Friends was recently awarded a $2000.00 matching funds grant from United Spay Alliance. This grant is to be used to Spay and Neuter Community Cats that are in Breckinridge County. In order to receive these funds from United Spay Alliance, however, Animal Friends must fundraise a matching $2000.00.
Over the next three months, Animal Friends will be fundraising to raise the required 2000.00 in order to receive the matching funds of $2000.00 from United Spay Alliance. This will give us a total of $4000.00 to be used to Spay and Neuter Community Cats in Breckinridge County!
So that you can participate in all our fundraisers, please keep a watchful eye out on all our social media sites. This includes our Facebook and Web pages, the Breckinridge Herald News and our local radio station WXBC 104.3 The River.
One fundraiser has already been confirmed and is in the early stages of planning. We will have a Spay-getti Dinner with a Silent Ticket Draw for big prizes at The Moose Lodge located at 289 Alex Drive, Falls of Rough on July 26, 2025 at 5:00. Although the Moose Lodge is typically a private club, this event will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Come join us and make donations to a great spay-getti dinner. You can also take your chances to win some big-ticket items! Donations can also be made out to Animal Friends and mailed to P.O. Box 301, Harned Ky. 40144.
Stay tuned to hear about future fundraisers that we will do in the months of June, July, and August! Breck Co. Animal Friends truly appreciates your support!
